Carly Wood, PsyD

Carly Wood, PsyD completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Spalding University. Her practicum experiences include psychological assessment and therapy with children within the foster care system at Uspiritus, adults at Central State Hospital, elementary schoolers that have experienced chronic trauma and abuse, and children, adolescents, and teenagers at Home of the Innocents. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Jackson Health System in Miami, FL where she worked with children, adolescents, and teens struggling with personality disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as within in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy-Adolescent clinic and the child psychiatric inpatient hospital. Carly has a special interest in working with adolescents, teens, and young adults that are currently experiencing interpersonal difficulties, emotion dysregulation, or have experienced chronic trauma or abuse. She also has experience and interest in working with parents who are struggling to parent their adolescents or teens. Carly utilizes a framework that begins with forming a collaborative and secure therapeutic relationship and includes process-oriented interpersonal and Dialectical Behavior Therapy informed treatment.

In addition to her work at Compass, Carly is also an adjunct professor of psychology at Bellarmine University. Outside of work, Carly enjoys spending quality time with her dog Scout, kayaking, and exploring the Louisville food scene with friends.
